Windows 11 Gets New Notepad, Cloud PC And 10 New Features
Windows 11 won this Tuesday (28) a major update that includes at least 12 new features . In addition to news related to Artificial Intelligence (AI), tools that were already being tested by Insiders are now starting to reach the general public.

Among the news, Microsoft brings the new Phone Link for iOS, improvements to Microsoft 365, Notepad and a number of other system tools. The update will start to be distributed from today to users , although all the news could arrive in the March update.
1. New Notepad
A novelty that was already awaited by Windows 11 users begins to be distributed. Now, Block News officially has tabs, just like in browsers.
This way, users will be able to open and concentrate different text files in a single Notepad window, making it easier to navigate between them. To add a new tab, just tap the “+” button and start typing, for example.
2. Access your iPhone quickly
Coming into preview, the new Phone Link for iOS will allow iPhone users to view and respond to text messages or answer calls directly from Windows 11 . The idea is to further integrate Apple’s smartphone into the system. In October, the company released easy access to its iCloud photo library right from File Explorer .

On Android, the application has also gained improvements. Now, Samsung mobile phone users can quickly create an internet hotspot by clicking on the Wi-Fi network list on the computer. Another function allows you to quickly open mobile internet pages in Windows, bringing more freedom to continue browsing.
3. Windows 11 with Bing
Windows 11 also gained Artificial Intelligence (AI) improvements. Now, Bing with ChatGPT will be available in a search box right from the taskbar . Just click, type a search, and interact with the new search engine’s contextual responses.

4. Always looking at the camera
Another AI-powered tool comes to Windows 11 via Studio Effects, released last year. Just like Nvidia’s tool , the system now adds an “eye contact” function. It makes the user always “looking at the camera”, even if he is looking the other way.
The software also gains new functions to blur the background in video calls, improvements for the reproduction of frames per second and starts to prioritize the user’s voice in relation to other ambient noises.
5. Access Cloud PC in the new Microsoft 365 app
Windows 11 users will also be able to access a Cloud PC directly from the Microsoft 365 app . Directly from the PC, just open the new app, include your credentials and check the list of computers in the cloud that can be accessed. The tool can make life easier, for example, for IT managers and administrators.
6. Record screen more easily
In today’s update, Microsoft also brings to the Snipping Tool a new handy shortcut so that users can record their computer screen . The tool can be useful for teachers, content creators, students and more. To access the tool quickly, just use the shortcut Windows + Shift + S.
7. New widgets
New Widgets for Windows 11 also arrive with today’s update. Among them, shortcuts are available for Phone Link, Xbox Game Pass, Spotify and Meta services – owner of Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram.
8. Improved video preview for Microsoft Teams
A small but welcome change adds improvements to the Microsoft Teams app’s video preview in the taskbar. Thus, when hovering the mouse over the icon, the user will see a preview of both the image and the chat, in addition to accessing quick settings such as typing a new message without opening the window, for example.
9. More braille display support
Windows 11 now has improvements in the screen reading function and now supports more models of screens in braille. With this, the system also improves the tradeoff between using the narration function and using screens like this, making it easier to interact with extra accessories.
10. New Quick Assistance app
The Quick Assist application was another one that underwent improvements. It is now possible to quickly switch between screen sharing and regain control during, for example, a support session. The function is useful, among others, when the user needs assistance with the computer.
The company also announced a new “laser pointer” so you can highlight an icon, menu “or anything on the screen” that might help in these situations.
Two other relatively minor changes also arrived for Windows 11. They are:
11. Touch screens
The taskbar may appear or disappear, depending on usage, when switching between PC and tablet mode;
12. Power
Settings app brings more power management options.
